Surgical Discharge Instructions Your cat has just been spayed. Spaying consists of removal of both ovaries and uterus from an abdominal incision. This surgical procedure was done under a general anesthetic. Some important Information following surgery: · Your pet should be fully recovered from the anesthetic by the time she goes home. · Feed your pet their regular diet. · For the next 10 days, no excessive running or jumping. · Keep cats indoors only. · Check your pet’s spay incision daily. · Give medications as directed. Notify the Hospital If: · Your pet licks excessively at her spay incision. · There is any redness, swelling or discharge from the spay incision. · Your pet has persistent vomiting, diarrhea or anorexia.
